Leon Awee asks:

My friend and I were playing a casual game when I played a drop drop close to the net on his forehand side. The ball bounced in and proceeded to drop below the table - due to his athletic ability, my friend lunged forward and hit the ball from beneath the table surface under and around the net post and it landed in and rolled across the table - is this a valid point?

Greg replies:

Yes, this is a valid return. The ball is allowed to go under or around the net, and it is also allowed to roll on the table rather than bouncing. In this case, it is just a great shot by your friend!

The rule concerned is Law 2.7, which is as follows:

2.7 A GOOD RETURN

2.7.1 The ball, having been served or returned, shall be struck so that it passes over or around the net assembly and touches the opponent's court, either directly or after touching the net assembly.
