David Fordham asks:

I have an old bat with a grass rubber on one side is this ok to play with in local league?

Greg replies:

Hi David,

It depends on which type of Grass Rubber it is. The easiest way to
check is to go to the ITTF website, www.ittf.com , and then click
on the Equipment link on the left hand side. You'll go to an
Authorised Racket Coverings page. Type Grass into the box for Brand,
and click on Go. You'll get a list of currently legal rubbers with
'Grass' in their name, and pictures of the Rubber ID Stamp as well.

Having said that, even if your rubber is not legal, the players in
your league may not care, and may be happy to play against it anyway.
It also depends on whether your league is using ITTF rules or not.
